Gluten Free Fast Food Breakfast Options

This guide will come in handy for road trips, when you’re in a hurry to get to work, or when you just don’t feel like cooking breakfast!

I have split this blog post into two sections. The first section is ideas for gluten free breakfast options that you should be able to find at most fast food restaurants.

The second section is a breakdown of gluten free items you can order at the top 3 fast food chains.

Gluten Free Fast Food Breakfast Options

When ordering items that could become cross-contaminated like using the same grilling surface, same frying oil, cutting boards, etc make sure to communicate you have a gluten allergy and you need these items cooked separately.

With a little creativity and communication, you can enjoy a wide range of delicious gluten free breakfast options that cater to your dietary needs while satisfying your taste buds.

Bon appétit!

Gluten Free Breakfast Restaurants

This is the first section of this breakfast guide. You should be able to order these items at most fast food restaurants.

  1. Breakfast bowls: Make sure the scrambled eggs are actually gluten free.
  2. Yogurt Parfait with Gluten Free Granola: This is a light and refreshing breakfast option.
  3. Breakfast Tacos: Ask them to wrap your breakfast taco with lettuce. You’ll need to double-check if the scrambled eggs or sausage is gluten free.
  4. Omelet: You can customize an omelet to include your favorite gluten free ingredients like mushrooms, bacon, and peppers.
  5. Smoothie Bowls: topped with fresh fruit, gluten free granola, shredded coconut, or chia seeds. It’s a vibrant and refreshing breakfast option that will leave you feeling energized. I often get these when I’m downtown as a fun treat.
  6. Salmon and Cream Cheese Bagel Alternative: If you’re missing the classic bagel experience, fear not! Swap the bagel for a gluten-free alternative like a lettuce wrap or a gluten free bread option. Layer it with smoked salmon, creamy dairy free cheese or cream cheese, and some fresh greens for a delightful gluten free take on a breakfast favorite.
  7. Breakfast Sandwich using Hash browns as the bun: Order a breakfast sandwich and ask them to use two hash browns as the bun. It will taste so good! You do need to check if their hasbrowns are gluten free. Sometimes they dust the hashbrowns with flour.
  8. All beef hot dogs without buns: If the fast food restaurant sells hot dogs you can ask for those without buns. This is also an item you can get at a gas station.
  9. Order side items: Put together your own breakfast by ordering side items like eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns.
