Perfectly cooked buttery scallops made in the air fryer, ready in less than 20 minutes. These air fryer scallops are an easy gourmet dinner!
If you’re a fan of Hell’s Kitchen then you probably remember Gordon Ramsay yelling more than once at the chefs for not properly cooking the scallops!
Honestly, it can sometimes be hard to cook scallops because they go from uncooked to fully cooked so fast. Once you go past fully cooked they get rubbery.
I doubt Gordon Ramsay would approve of cooking scallops in an air fryer but we need simplicity in our lives and air fryers give us that.
It takes 7 minutes to cook these scallops in an air fryer. Just follow my directions and you’ll be happy with the results. Serve them with simple sides like rice or salad. Or go heartier and serve them with something like miso mashed potatoes.

How to Make Scallops in An Air Fryer
Step 1: Season the scallops. Place defrosted scallops in a large bowl. Season the scallops with salt, garlic, and dried herbs of your choice.
Step 2: Add some more flavor. Pour in lemon juice and melted butter and stir to coat.
Step 3: Air fry the scallops. Line the air fryer basket with parchment, (you can skip this step if you prefer). Place the scallops in the basket of the air fryer and bake at 360°F for 4 minutes.
Step 4: Shake the basket. After 4 minutes, gently shake the air fryer basket a few times and bake for another 3 minutes.
Serve the scallops warm. Drizzle with additional melted butter if desired.
How to Store Cooked Scallops
Store leftover scallops in an airtight container in your fridge for up to 4 days. You can freeze previously cooked scallops for up to 3 months.
How to Reheat Scallops
Reheat scallops either in your air fryer at 360°F for about 4 minutes or until heated through or in a skillet with some butter over medium-low heat for a few minutes or until heated through.
