How to Make Hot Chocolate Spoons
Step 1: Prep the Tools. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper. Grab a wooden spoon to use as a rest. Have your spoons ready.
Step 2: Melt the Chocolate. Add the chocolate chips to a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between, until melted.
Step 3: Dip the Spoons. Dip each spoon into the bowl of melted chocolate. Transfer the spoon to the wax paper, resting the arm of the spoon against the wooden spoon.
Step 4: Decorate. Sprinkle each spoon with your desired toppings. Allow the spoons to set completely before packaging or storing.
Step 5: Use the Hot Chocolate Spoons. Heat milk in a microwave-safe mug until hot, add the spoon to the milk, and stir until the chocolate has melted and blended with the milk.

Hot Chocolate Spoons

Ingredients
- 16 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate chips
- Plus your favorite hot chocolate toppings
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with wax paper and grab a wooden spoon as a rest for when the chocolate spoons are drying.
- Melt the chocolate chips by adding all of them to a large microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute and stir vigorously. If needed, continue cooking and stirring the chocolate chips in 30-second increments until melted and smooth.
- Dip each spoon into the melted chocolate to coat the back and front of the spoon, leaving a small mound of melted chocolate in the middle of the spoon.
- Transfer the chocolate-coated spoon to the prepared surface, resting the arm of the spoon against the wooden spoon.
- Sprinkle each spoon with your favorite hot chocolate toppings.
- Allow the spoons to set completely before packaging or storing.
- To use, heat 1 cup of milk in a microwave-safe mug until hot or in a saucepan on low heat. Add the chocolate spoon to the milk and stir until the chocolate has melted and blended with the milk. You can also add the spoons to regular hot chocolate as a fun extra layer of chocolate.
