Hot Chocolate Jello Shots
Get ready for the ultimate party treat this winter! Hot chocolate jello shots have a rich and creamy hot chocolate layer, and a white cream layer, and are topped with a dollop of whipped cream. Imagine a rich cup of hot cocoa but in a shot glass form.

Hot Chocolate Jello Shots Ingredients
- evaporated milk
- unflavored gelatin powder
- sugar
- cocoa powder
- vanilla extract
- gluten free vodka
- sweetened condensed milk
How to Make Hot Chocolate Jello Shots
In a medium bowl, add water, and unflavored gelatin, and stir to combine.
Set aside.
Let sit for 5 minutes until the mixture is thickened.
In a medium saucepan, add the evaporated milk, sugar, and cocoa powder, and stir to combine. Cook over medium-low heat, and cook until it begins to simmer.
Add the chocolate mixture into the gelatin mixture, and stir until the gelatin is dissolved and there are no clumps. Add the vodka and vanilla extract.
Whisk to combine.
Pour mixture into 2-ounce plastic shot cups, ¾ of the way full.
Place in the refrigerator for 1 hour or until set.
White Layer:
In a medium-sized bowl add 1/2 cup cold water and 2 packages of unflavored gelatin. Let sit for 5 minutes until the mixture is thickened.
Add 1 cup of boiling water and mix until dissolved.
Add the sweetened condensed milk and ¼ cup vodka and whisk to combine.
Set to the side to allow it to cool slightly to room temperature.
Pour on top of the chocolate layer until the cups are full.
Return to the refrigerator for 1 hour.
When ready to serve, garnish with some whipped cream and chocolate.
How to store hot chocolate jello shots
Store hot cocoa jello shots in the refrigerator for up to a week until ready to serve. Jello shots can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
Why Gluten Free Vodka?
Since this is a gluten free site I suggest gluten free vodka since vodka is usually made from grains which makes it not suitable for the gluten free diet.
Dairy Free Hot Chocolate Jello Shots
To make these hot chocolate jello shots dairy free use coconut cream instead of evaporated milk and use coconut cream with some sugar added instead of sweetened condensed milk.

- 1 1/2 cups (12 ounces) evaporated milk
- 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1.4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup gluten free vodka
White Layer
- ¼ cup gluten free vodka
- 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 0.5 ounce unflavored gelatin
- Garnish with whipped cream and chocolates
