We’ve created a list of 34 gluten free girl dinner ideas that are perfect for those evenings when you want to put minimal effort into cooking but still crave a satisfying and comforting meal.

Some Tiktokers believe girl dinner is a recent trend but I disagree! I’ve been eating this way since my university days and it did not stop 20 years later. Some nights we just don’t have the energy to make a full meal and the thought of eating leftovers feels draining. Sooo that’s when we turn to girl dinner.

These girl dinner ideas cater to doing as little as possible! They’re not healthy but we won’t judge.

34 Girl Dinner Ideas

  1. Instant Ramen with Veggies: Upgrade gluten free instant ramen by adding some fresh or frozen vegetables.
  2. Avocado Toast: Top gluten free toast with mashed avocado, salt, and pepper. If you want protein add a fried egg or a poached egg.
  3. Grilled Cheese Sandwich: Make a classic grilled cheese with your favorite cheese.
  1. Fruit & Cheese: Keep it simple and use whatever fresh fruit you have on hand.
  2. Egg Fried Rice: Whip up fried rice using leftover rice, eggs, and veggies. I often do this just to use up leftover rice.
  3. Plate of Melted Cheese: I know it sounds weird but it’s one of my favorite things to eat! I love slicing a bunch of cheddar cheese or mozzarella and placing it on a plate and then melting it in the microwave until it is gooey.
  4. Quesadilla: Fill a gluten free tortilla with cheese and any desired toppings, then heat it up.

  2. Salami Wrapped Carrot Sticks: Listen, I know it sounds weird but I’ve been eating these since I was a kid. Take a piece of salami and wrap it around a carrot stick you cut up into smaller sticks. It’s delicious!
  3. Pesto Pasta: Cook up some gluten free pasta and cover it in pesto, or whatever sauce you have in your fridge or pantry. I often make a simple cheese sauce with some cream cheese, milk, chopped garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper simmered together and thickened with cornstarch or arrowroot starch. You can add some chopped veggies if you want to make it heartier.
  1. Hummus and Dippers: If you have some hummus or another dip, grab some dippers like crackers, and veggies, and snack away!
  2. Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich: This is a classic quick dinner. Spread peanut butter on gluten free bread or wrap. I’ve used corn tortillas many times (I warmed them up in a skillet first), and add banana slices.
  3. Smoothie Bowl: Blend your favorite fruits and top with granola or nuts.
  4. Bagel with Cream Cheese and a fried egg: Grab your gluten free bagel from the freezer, toast it, then top it with cream cheese, a runny fried egg, and a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning.

  3. Plate of Bacon: We won’t judge! Go ahead and cook up a package of bacon and enjoy it for dinner.
  4. Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie: Blend peanut butter, banana, protein powder, and milk for a quick and filling smoothie.

  2. Tuna or Salmon Salad: Mix canned tuna with mayo, and spoon or over romaine leaves.
  3. Canned Soup: Heat up your favorite gluten free canned soup.
  4. Oatmeal with Fruit: Cook oatmeal and top it with fresh or dried fruit, or yogurt.
  1. Tortilla Wrap Pizza: Top a gluten free tortilla wrap with tomato sauce, cheese, and any available toppings and saute it in a skillet, or bake it in the oven, toaster oven, or air fryer until the cheese is melted.
  2. Cheese and Crackers Platter: Arrange different cheeses with gluten free crackers for a girl dinner.
  3. Popcorn: This is my go-to girl dinner, a bowl of homemade popcorn drenched in butter with a sprinkle of salt. Try some homemade popcorn seasonings.
  4. Mug Cake: I’ve made these many times for dinner! Here’s my viral flourless chocolate mug cake.
  1. Chips and Dip: Whatever you have in your pantry. Many times I have eaten tortilla chips with salsa for dinner.
  2. Chickpea Salad: Toss canned chickpeas with olive oil, lemon juice, and spices.
  3. Miso Soup: I always have miso soup packages in my pantry. I either eat the miso soup plain or add some spiralized carrots, zucchini, rice noodles, etc. I sometimes turn it into hot and sour soup by adding sriracha sauce and vinegar until it has that perfect hot & sour flavor. If I’m feeling fancy I add frozen shrimp that I cook in the broth.
  4. A plate of French Fries: I like making it fancy by tossing the baked french fries in some chopped garlic, parmesan cheese, and parsley (fresh or dried).

  1. Hard-Boiled Eggs: I am not a fan of hard-boiled eggs but a lot of people are. Boil some eggs and sprinkle with salt and pepper, everything bagel seasoning, or condiments. You can also go fancy and slice your egg in half and top your boiled eggs with deli meat, pickles, chips, etc.
  2. Trail Mix Bowl: Combine nuts, gluten free granola, dried fruits, and chocolate for a satisfying girl dinner.
  3. Tomatoes and Mozzarella: Use whatever tomatoes you have, cherry tomatoes, big plump tomatoes, etc, and slice them into slices and take your mozzarella cheese and slice it into cubes and place it all on a plate. Drizzle with some olive oil, and balsamic vinegar, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. You have a caprese-inspired plate!
  4. A Bowl of Cottage Cheese: With the current cottage cheese craze, you probably have a container in your fridge that needs to be eaten before it spoils so go ahead and have it for dinner. I like swirling it with some peanut butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
