Before (2010), and the middle of my weightloss journey (2011).  The first picture and the middle picture is from the same conference 1 year apart.

I’m going to the Dominican in 6 weeks!!!  So when Teri from Body Systems Fit Club put out the call to Bloggers and Media on Twitter for fitness coaching I came running, or tweeting…  In partnership with Teri, I am receiving 4 weeks of free fitness coaching in return I will blog about the ups and downs and the whole journey of working out and having Teri by my side to mentor me.  After our first e-mail I already felt soooo motivated to workout.  Since I have been on a lifestyle change (Jan 2011) the eating part has been easy!  I detoxed from sugar and all that other stuff and I have never once struggled.  Honestly, I love the way I eat.  But when it comes to working out consistently that’s a whole other story.  I’m all over the place with my fitness routines.  I do walk consistently.  I walk A LOT!  I purposely park my car at the far end of the parking lot and walk, which is great until you leave the store and it just started raining.  I walk to the grocery store.  I basically try to walk everywhere.

Me in 2005 & 2007.  I feel like the old me again:D
There are a few workout routines I love: P90x, Winsor Pilates, and Tony Little.  Teri, who also enjoys P90x gave me the challenge of working out 5 days a week to the videos.  5 DAYS a week!!!  She is going to do the same workouts.  The biggest challenge will be finding the time.  I’m so busy.  Next week I’m going on a business trip to Dallas, Texas!  Overall, I love my body just the way it is but I’m also going to be in a bathing suit for 9 days straight so I want to put some effort into looking great.
My goal isn’t to lose weight.  My goal is to tone my body and feel stronger.
What I am looking to get out of this:
·         toned arms and shoulders
·         really toned thighs
·       flatten my tummy a little more.  I have 2 ab lines that I am sooo proud of.  I would like to define them.
·         Strengthen my back.  My back aches when I’m at the office all day.
The Before the Challenge pictures.
Checkout those muscles:D
Beginning weight: 131 (I started Atkins at 165)
Size: 8 (I was a size 14 when I started)
I want to leave you with some inspiration.  I get harassed weekly over my diet choices.  Majority of that harassment comes from family members.  To be honest I don’t even understand why people would harass me over making positive choices.  It just baffles my mind.  My diet choice of eating low carb, gluten free (Atkins) is what has given me my body back.  I feel like me again.  I have reduced my medication for my disease by 2/3rd’s.  If you are struggling there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  You will reach your goal.  Just take your journey day by day.  There were months in a row where I didn’t lose a single pound.  It is all about perception.  I didn’t give up because I didn’t see myself on a diet, I saw myself on a lifestyle.
If you want to add working out to your regime but you are having trouble staying committed talk to a friend and have them hold you accountable.  Talk to Teri.  If you are having problems feeling motivated to eat low carb shoot me an e-mail.  I love encouraging people.  I believe in the power of food.  Also lookup facebook groups online.  I have found the Atkins facebook page to be an amazing resource.

Hi there. Wow I'm really glad I stumbled on your blog. I just started Atkins (Ph 1) yesterday. So how did I actually gain half a pound in one day? LOL! Who knows but today is Day 2 and my appetite is missing in action. I've got the foggiest feeling…brain fog or something. Ugh. But I'm determined to make this work for me. I had a DNA genetic test and my results showed this is best for me. I'm just so glad I read what you said about making it through the slow/no lose times and you even went months in a row. It's encouraging to read that other people struggle like that but STICK WITH IT. Last but not least – which atkins group on facebook are you specifically talking about? I tried to find one but i really don't think I found THE one. Hmmm. Thanks! Allie

      H Allie!!!

      This Atkins group:
All of those symptoms are happening because you are detoxing from sugar. It will be over soon:D Read the book, beware of the rules for each stage. Ask questions. You'll do great!

Sometimes it gets tiring to do everything right and not see change. But it really IS inspirational to see that the perseverance pays off, eventually.
